Sonar 2009 Review pt 1 (It was about time)

You are right…I was really late for my review for my sonar experience but in my country they say “it’s better late than never”:P

So lets start from scratch.

Day 1 to 3
Through to my late review i’m not gonna talk much about my previews 3 days before sonar but i’m just gonna say that considering my second time at BCN this time we had a much more laid back tour at the city,and FINALLY we made some sightseeing. Anyway there were many events to local clubs and bars but we were run out of feet so sleeping was my main activity.But there was a huge event that i missed and i’m still regretting For loosing it.It was the Flying lotus Brainfeeder showcase with FlyLo himself,The Gaslam Killer,Martyn and more artists that rocked mondo club with heavy drum-drops and serious baselines coming out from the stage.

Day 4 Sonar by day

After having too many walks ,photos and mojitos by the beach it was finally the time to get serious for one of our main reasons for making this trip.Sonar has started with a “by Day” session only for today,but believe me it was more than enough for start.
Arriving excited and on time we were facing one of the rarest and most significant dj set that everyone can experience. It was the Wizard most known as Jeff Mills spinning under his radio profile back in his early detroit days.Old school hip-hop mixed with galactic disco grooves and filled with tripping techno was making the perfect start for a most promising festival coming.

After the sweaty wizard’s dj set the next act was from Ghostly’s pioneer Lusine who despite the weird follow up he had to do after Mills, he managed to make people celebrate Ghostly’s 10th year anniversary showcase with glitchy spices and moving the hole stage..AGAIN

Finally for our last music experience for the first day it was time to move to the Sonar Dome that was this year adopted by the Red bull music academy Team and it was newcomer’s Onra to take the controls.Using his unique technique on 2 Mpcs he made an amazing sample-based live performance thateven big names would be jelous. Our day finished with major feet and brain damage so relaxation and sleeping was the drag of our choise
